Re: Beauty secrets...
I love this thread! Looking forward to all the tips and tricks y'all are gonna share.
The best one I have right now is to drink enough water every day, at least 2 litres & to minimize the coffee & soda intake. :) -
Re: Beauty secrets...
I forgot to put mine!

To get rid of eyebags (especially after crying while watching TV! LOL), make a cup of tea, squeeze most of the water out of the teabag & put the damp teabag over your eye(s) for about 15 minutes. Works for me!
For my skin? I'm LAZY! hahaha... Thank God for good genes, I only have to use Oxy facial wash & slather on SK-II Essence. SK-II is pretty good, got rid some random pimples that popped out. Kinda expensive though! Oh, I have this to die for charcoal ClearPore Deep Cleansing Mask that totally celans everythimg from your face, including fine hair. Ouch!
Got a few new beauty products to test, might share the results. LOL. Comes with the job.

Re: Beauty secrets...
Kim Kardashian beat me to the punch on this one! About a month ago I was going to tweet how much I love Sally Hansen Air Brush Legs but she beat me to it! Seriously, that stuff is amazing!!!! I used it on my legs for my 5* at Staples Center and I loved it! Used it all summer whenever I wore a short dress! Makes your legs look flawless!

I love that! I tried it on my arms, and they looked perfect.
Too bad it's too hot to use that in Malaysia, it's uber humid here!
Oh btw, am gonna try Swiss Line's Cell Shock 360° Anti-Wrinkle Line Filler for work so let's see how it works. Do I even have wrinkles? *checks in mirror*

Re: Beauty secrets...
Well, when I had mosquito bite. I used Burt Bee's Blemish Stick. Just apply on. It will stop the itch. Couple days later the mosquito bite is gone.
If, you got hiccups. I learn this on my own. Take your tongue put it behind or your front your upper teeth. Hold your breath for like a minute or two. Your hiccup will stop. If, your hiccup is big. Might want do it a few times. Until your hiccup was gone. For me, if I got big hiccup I waited out. Then, when the hiccup dies down. I do my trick.
I tried not wear bra very often. So my breasts can breathe. Cause, I learn the hard way. one summer, I was doing Yoga. My Yoga teacher, & I, were walking. It was hot that day. My left breast has sweat blotches. (Just two of them.) Cause, my bra was soaking wet from me sweating. (I get hot very easily.) So, I told my self, if I feel hot, just take my bra off. I'm home. I have shirt on. You really can't tell. I do wear bra out, in public. Anyways, the sweat blotches (not sure the right term.) They are slowly going away on their own with using oxy cleaning pads & other cleaning products, I been using.
Okay, these are my secret beauty tips.

Re: Beauty secrets...
Good genes and a stress free life is the secret. Shame I am not stress free, I'd be perfect otherwise

Re: Beauty secrets...
I use Victoria Principal skin care line on my face! I also try to exercise 4-6 days a week, drink at least 64 ounces of water a day and try to eat healthy most days of the week!

Re: Beauty secrets...
I recently started using the Dr. Brandt Pores No More products and I looove the whole line. Sephora has them. They are a little pricey for small bottles, but I find them to be worth it.
I have also been using Nars Sheer Glow foundation for about 4 months and, oddly enough, it's a foundation that really seems to improve your skin. My skin looks pretty much flawless with it on, and it definitely isn't! lol It balances out the dry/oily spots, keeps my skin soft and doesn't break me out or irritate my skin. I don't think I'll use anything else again. : ) It's $42 a bottle, but I'm still on the first one, so it really lasts awhile. Use their oil free primer with it....amaaaazing!! : D
Another thing I really love right now is argan oil for my hair. I use this stuff called One 'n Only Argan Oil Restorative Mask....I found it at Ulta. I use it as a regular conditioner in the shower, but sometimes I also put some on my ends and put my hair in a tight bun & let it sit overnight. Great stuff!! -
RE: Beauty secrets...
I decided that I needed a skincare routine about a year ago (way too late, but anyway) and so I went to Clinique and had a consultant tell me what I needed. it was/is expensive, but it's worth it - last time I was there the consultant thought I was wearing foundation and I wasn't. My pores have shrunk, my skin is brighter - it's pretty cool.
I have good genes to start with - my mum looks about 15 years younger than she is, and then on top of it I have her Celtic skin so I don't go out in the sun. It helps a lot.
I'm not very objective, but my best friend and mum are pretty impressed with how it looks, so...
The best thing Clinique sells is their Repairwear laser focus serum. If you buy the larger size you will see visible results before the bottle is done.
As far as cosmetics, I try to avoid anything with sulphates or parabens, and I can't have mineral oil because I'm allergic to nickel and cobalt, so I'm pretty selective. Clinique, MAC, and Smashbox are all pretty good. If you want organic, Physican's Formula has a line.
I really do believe you get what you pay for - if you buy that drugstore stuff you'll eventually regret it. -
Re: Beauty secrets...
All I can say is Make Up Forever Full Coverage Foundation & Powder. I can't use anything else. I use the foundation with the powder on top and my skin looks flawless. I get compliments everywhere I go. Everyone tells me my face looks like porcelain.

Re: Beauty secrets...
Thanks for this tip, Kelly. As much as I *love* Nars, I have been itching to try the MUFE stuff. The only thing that has stopped me so far was finding a good color match. Maybe when I get paler in the winter. : ) I have heard such great things, and you've reconfirmed that. Who doesn't want compliments everywhere!? haha ; )

Re: Beauty secrets...
I recently discovered this cool idea....called the sock bun! If you take a sock, cut the end off and roll it into a doughnut shape....then roll your hair up with it, on top of your head, overnight......you'll have beautiful curls in the morning! This really works!

Re: Beauty secrets...
if any of u need to use a humidifier and ur traveling to see our mutual fave main man, wet a towel at night and hang it on a door knob, works pretty well, and keeps our skin nice and hidrated (i know i just totally butchered that spelling but its 6am and i haven't been to bed yet). The trick is don't totally drench the towel, wet it completely but don't have it dripping, in the am when u wake up it should be (or almost) dry, just depends how dry the room/city etc is!!! Got that 1 off of Cindy Crawford so I believe it works and so does my skin. Good luck, and happy experimenting!!!

RE: Beauty secrets...
if u r unsure of the order in which u should apply ur face creams its as simple as thinest to thickest. Example m day starts after washing, serum, eye cream (best advice i ever got was u nr never too young to start wearing eye cream, i've used them since i was 15yrs old and i have no smile lines, crows feet etc) retinal or aha cream/lotion ,i have oily skin so i don't really need to moisturize much but if u wear it the moisturizer now and then sunscreen. I personally wear Neutrogena's health skin w/ spf 15 and retinol. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN EVEN IN THE SHADE OR A CLOUDY DAY!!! AND this is key if u put each layer of products on after u lightly spritz ur face w/ water, it retains the moisture literally 100% more. use this same trick when getting out of the bath or show, simply put water holds onto water.
i am newly 35 and still occasionally get carded and our drinking age is 19[b]yrs
